Why are people always talking about Real Estate, yet it is not affordable?

The fact that people think real estate is not affordable is the reason it is a very lucrative sector. Yet, some people are acquiring properties for free.

Imagine something as important as a house, yet only few people are the ones providing this, especially in Nigeria with over 20 million housing shortage. Just imagine how expensive water will become if only a few people can provide it.

The ideal thing is that the moment something is important to the majority of the population, many people start to invest or start a business in it. For example, look at how widespread POS business is. But the reverse is the case in Real Estate and Construction.

Why?
